Fast food leader McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several additional weeks. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, most McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have agreed to continue the promotion, which initially began on June 25.

The meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the duration of the offer may differ by location, with some extending the deal into August.

As consumers cope with rising food costs, particularly in the fast casual dining segment, the McDonald’s promotion has proven beneficial for the company. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai observed a notable increase in customer visits following the launch of the meal bundle, highlighting its success with diners.

This successful promotion has prompted other fast casual chains to respond with their own deals. For instance, Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has implemented a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box, alongside its ongoing $5 Taco Discovery Box and its Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King revealed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle would outlast McDonald’s offer, in conjunction with introducing new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Meanwhile, Wendy’s has entered the competition with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
