McDonald’s Extends $5 Meal Deal: What It Means for Fast Food Fans

McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks across many of its U.S. locations. The promotion, which originally started on June 25, has proven successful enough that a majority of the chain’s outlets have chosen to keep it available beyond the initial four-week period.

Reports indicate that this meal bundle will be offered at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, though the duration of the promotion may differ by location. Some outlets are expected to continue the deal until August.

As consumers face rising food prices and tighter budgets, this value offering appears to be effective for McDonald’s. According to Placer.ai, a firm that analyzes foot traffic, the introduction of this bundle has resulted in a notable increase in customer visits shortly after its launch, highlighting its popularity among diners.

The success of McDonald’s deal has prompted other fast-casual dining chains to respond with their own promotions. Arby’s has launched a $9 meal bundle, and Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell also announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its ongoing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In a related move, Burger King stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle would remain available longer than the McDonald’s offering and is expanding its menu with new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Meanwhile, Wendy’s has joined the competition with a $3 breakfast bundle and has also rolled out a $5 combo named the “Biggie Bag.”
