McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo cited by Bloomberg, a majority of McDonald’s locations in the United States agreed to prolong the promotion, which initially launched on June 25 for four weeks.

The $5 meal bundle will continue to be available at approximately 93% of the fast-food chain’s locations across the country, although the duration of the promotion may differ by region. Some outlets have chosen to maintain the deal until August.

As consumers face increasing food prices, particularly in fast casual dining, McDonald’s promotion is proving beneficial for the company. Foot traffic analytics from Placer.ai revealed a significant increase in customers visiting McDonald’s restaurants shortly after the launch of the meal deal, indicating its popularity among consumers.

The success of McDonald’s bundle has raised concerns among other fast casual dining chains, prompting them to introduce their own competitive offers. For instance, Arby’s has rolled out a $9 bundle, while Sonic has created a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box and also continues to offer its $5 Taco Discovery Box along with its Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle would be available for a longer period than McDonald’s offering, and earlier that month, they revealed plans to introduce new items under their “Fiery Menu.” Similarly, Wendy’s has joined the deal frenzy with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
