Fast food giant McDonald’s is extending its $5 meal deal for a few more weeks.

According to a memo cited by Bloomberg, most McDonald’s locations in the United States have agreed to continue the promotion beyond the initial four-week period, which officially began on June 25. The bundle will still be available at approximately 93% of restaurants nationwide, with the duration of the promotion varying by location. Some restaurants have chosen to extend the deal until August.

Amid elevated food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, McDonald’s $5 bundle has proven beneficial for the company. A recent analysis by foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai revealed that McDonald’s saw a significant increase in foot traffic across its restaurants following the deployment of the bundle, indicating strong consumer response to the deal.

This promotion has also spurred competition among other fast casual dining chains, prompting them to offer their own deals. Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has added a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell, in June, launched a $7 Luxe Cravings Box for a limited time, along with its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle would be available longer than McDonald’s offering. Additionally, Burger King introduced new items as part of its “Fiery Menu” earlier that month.

Wendy’s has also joined the promotion battle with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
