Fast food leader McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks.

According to a memo obtained by Bloomberg, a majority of McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have decided to continue the promotion, which initially began on June 25 and was scheduled for a four-week run.

The $5 meal will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the duration of the promotion may differ by location, with some choosing to extend it until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s bundle is proving beneficial for the company.

Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported that after the introduction of the bundle, McDonald’s saw a significant increase in customer visits, indicating the offer resonates well with consumers.

Other fast casual dining chains are taking note of McDonald’s success and are responding with their own competitive deals. Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has rolled out a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, Burger King revealed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would remain available longer than the McDonald’s promotion, and it has also launched new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has joined the competition with a $3 breakfast bundle and introduced a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
