McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for a few more weeks across many of its U.S. locations. According to information from Bloomberg, a majority of McDonald’s outlets in the country have agreed to prolong the promotion, which initially started on June 25 and was set for four weeks.

The meal bundle will continue to be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, though the duration of the offer may vary by location, with some extending it until August.

This decision comes at a time when consumers are feeling the sting of rising food prices, making affordable options like McDonald’s meal deal appealing. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai observed a significant increase in customers at McDonald’s locations soon after the promotion began, indicating that the deal is resonating well with patrons.

Other fast-casual dining chains are also responding to McDonald’s successful promotion. For instance, Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Meanwhile, Burger King has indicated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” will be available for a longer period than McDonald’s offering, and the chain has also introduced new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has joined the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
