Fast food leader McDonald’s will continue its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. A memo from the company indicates that a majority of its U.S. locations have agreed to extend the promotion, which initially began on June 25.

The meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, though the specific duration of the offer may differ from one location to another. Some locations plan to maintain the deal until August.

As consumers face rising food costs, particularly in fast casual dining, the McDonald’s meal deal has proven to be beneficial for the chain. Foot traffic analysis provided by Placer.ai revealed a significant increase in visitors to McDonald’s restaurants shortly after the promotion was introduced, indicating that it has struck a chord with customers.

This initiative has prompted other fast casual restaurants to respond with their own promotions. Arby’s has rolled out a $9 bundle, while Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King announced that its own $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle would remain available for a longer period than McDonald’s offering. Additionally, Burger King unveiled new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also entered the competition with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
