Fast food leader McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, a majority of McDonald’s locations in the United States have agreed to continue the promotion, which initially launched on June 25 for four weeks.

The meal deal will be available in approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, though the duration of the promotion may vary by location, with some franchises planning to offer it through August.

This move comes as consumers face higher food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, making the McDonald’s bundle appealing to budget-conscious customers. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a significant increase in visits to McDonald’s restaurants following the introduction of the bundle, indicating that the offer is resonating well with patrons.

The success of this deal has triggered other fast casual dining brands to respond with their own offers. For instance, Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell also announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In response to McDonald’s, Burger King stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for longer than the McDonald’s deal and has also introduced new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Additionally, Wendy’s has launched a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
