McDonald’s has announced that its popular $5 meal deal will be available for a few additional weeks. According to a report, most U.S.-based McDonald’s locations have agreed to extend the promotion, which originally began on June 25.

The meal bundle will continue to be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, although the length of the promotion may vary by location, with some franchises choosing to keep the deal running until August.

As consumers face rising food costs, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, this meal deal is proving to be beneficial for McDonald’s. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a significant increase in customers visiting McDonald’s locations following the promotion’s introduction, indicating strong consumer engagement.

The success of McDonald’s deal has prompted other fast casual dining chains to react with their own promotions. Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell has also joined the fray, offering a $7 Luxe Cravings Box for a limited time, alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In response to the competition, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer period than McDonald’s offering. The fast-food chain has also been updating its menu with new items. Additionally, Wendy’s has rolled out a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
