McDonald’s, the fast food powerhouse, has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. A memo reported by Bloomberg indicates that a majority of McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have agreed to prolong this promotion, which initially launched on June 25.

This meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the promotion’s duration may differ by location. Some restaurants have chosen to extend the offer until August.

The extension comes as consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast-casual dining sector. The $5 meal deal has proven to be beneficial for McDonald’s, attracting more customers during these tough economic times.

Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai recently reported a significant increase in visitors to McDonald’s locations shortly after the launch of the meal bundle, highlighting its appeal among consumers.

The success of this deal has prompted other fast-casual dining chains to respond with competitive offers. For instance, Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box to complement its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available longer than McDonald’s deal and also introduced new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Additionally, Wendy’s has joined the bargain landscape with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
