Fast food giant McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, most McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have agreed to continue the promotion, which initially started on June 25.

The $5 bundle will be available in approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, although the duration of the offer may differ by location, with some extending it until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in casual dining, the McDonald’s promotion has proved beneficial for the company. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai revealed that the introduction of the bundle has led to a noticeable increase in customer visits to McDonald’s locations, indicating that the deal resonates well with customers.

The success of McDonald’s deal has prompted other fast-casual dining chains to respond with their own offers. Arby’s has launched a $9 bundle, while Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box along with its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle would be available for a longer duration than McDonald’s offering and also introduced new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Similarly, Wendy’s is participating in the competitive landscape with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
