Fast food chain McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, most McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have opted to continue the promotion, which initially launched on June 25 for a four-week period.

The meal deal will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, though the duration of the offer may differ depending on the location. Some restaurants are expected to keep the promotion running until August.

With consumers facing higher food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s bundle has seen favorable results for the company. A recent analysis from foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai indicated a significant increase in visitors to McDonald’s restaurants shortly after the launch of the deal, demonstrating its appeal to shoppers.

The success of McDonald’s promotion has heightened competition among other fast casual dining chains. For example, Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell has also joined in, announcing a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box, in addition to its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Earlier this year, Burger King revealed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer period than McDonald’s offering and announced new additions to its “Fiery Menu.” Additionally, Wendy’s has launched a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag” as part of its menu enhancements.
