Fast food giant McDonald’s has announced it will extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo obtained by Bloomberg, the majority of McDonald’s locations in the U.S. opted to keep the promotion going beyond its original four-week launch period, which began on June 25.

The $5 bundle will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the specifics of the promotion’s duration may vary by location, with some franchises likely to continue the deal until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in fast-casual dining, this meal deal is proving beneficial for McDonald’s. Foot traffic analytics from Placer.ai revealed a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s after the launch of the bundle, indicating its popularity among shoppers.

The success of McDonald’s promotion has prompted other fast-casual dining chains to respond with their own deals. Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently launched a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and its Cravings Value Menu.

In May, Burger King announced it would extend its own $5 “Your Way Meal” longer than the McDonald’s promotion, while also introducing new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has joined the deal race with a $3 breakfast bundle and has since rolled out a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
