McDonald’s has announced that its popular $5 meal deal will be available for a longer period, extending the promotion for a few more weeks. According to reports, a majority of McDonald’s outlets in the U.S. have opted to continue the deal, which was initially launched on June 25 for a limited four-week period.

The meal bundle will be accessible at approximately 93% of McDonald’s locations nationwide, although the promotion’s duration may differ by restaurant. Some locations have chosen to extend the offer until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, McDonald’s promotion has proved beneficial. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai revealed that following the introduction of the bundle, the chain experienced a significant increase in customer visits, indicating the promotion’s appeal.

This success has triggered a response from other fast casual dining establishments, many of which are introducing their own competitive deals. For instance, Arby’s has launched a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic now features a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box, in addition to its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In a related move, Burger King declared that its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle would run longer than McDonald’s, and it has added new items to its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also joined the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle, as well as a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
