McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, most U.S.-based McDonald’s locations will continue to offer the deal, which initially launched on June 25 for a four-week period.

The meal bundle will be available at around 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, although the specific duration of the promotion may differ by location. Some franchises have opted to extend the deal until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s bundle has proven beneficial for the company. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai noted a significant increase in customer visits following the introduction of the meal deal, highlighting its appeal among consumers.

The success of this promotion has prompted other fast casual dining brands to respond with their own offers. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited time $7 Luxe Cravings Box in addition to its $5 Taco Discovery Box and existing Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, Burger King revealed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer duration than McDonald’s promotion, while also rolling out new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has stepped into the competitive landscape with a $3 breakfast bundle and has introduced a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
