McDonald’s, the well-known fast-food chain, has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several additional weeks. According to a memo cited by Bloomberg, a majority of McDonald’s locations in the United States will continue this promotion, which originally launched on June 25.

This meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the duration of the offer may differ by location, with some franchises choosing to keep the deal running until August.

Amid rising food prices affecting consumers, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, this bundle deal has proven to be beneficial for McDonald’s. A recent analysis by foot traffic analytics company Placer.ai indicated that following the introduction of the bundle, there was a notable increase in customer visits to McDonald’s locations, highlighting the offer’s popularity among consumers.

The success of McDonald’s deal has also prompted other fast casual dining chains to react. Competitors are introducing their own promotions, such as Arby’s $9 bundle and Sonic’s new permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu in June.

In late May, Burger King mentioned that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer duration than McDonald’s offering. The chain also introduced new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has similarly entered the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle and a new $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
