Fast food giant McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, most McDonald’s locations in the United States agreed to continue the promotion, which originally started on June 25.

The $5 meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the duration may vary by location. Some franchises plan to keep the offer until August.

As consumers face higher food prices, particularly in fast casual dining, the McDonald’s deal has proven beneficial for the company. A recent study by foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai indicated that the introduction of the meal bundle resulted in a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s locations.

The success of this promotion has prompted competitors in the fast casual market to respond with their own deals. For instance, Arby’s has launched a $9 bundle, while Sonic introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Additionally, Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box and continues to offer its $5 Taco Discovery Box alongside its Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King revealed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would outlast McDonald’s offer, and earlier that month, they introduced new items as part of their “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has joined the promotional trend as well, offering a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
