McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, according to a memo that Bloomberg reported. This decision comes as a response to the ongoing challenges in the fast-food industry amidst rising food prices.

The promotion, which originally started on June 25, will remain available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s locations across the United States, although the duration of the offer may differ from one restaurant to another. Some locations have chosen to continue the deal until August.

The $5 meal deal has proven beneficial for McDonald’s, attracting more customers during a time when many consumers are looking for affordable dining options. A recent analysis by foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai found that after the introduction of the meal bundle, McDonald’s restaurants experienced a marked increase in visitors.

This success has prompted other fast-casual dining chains to respond with their own deals. For instance, Arby’s has launched a $9 bundle, and Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell added a $7 Luxe Cravings Box and continued to offer its $5 Taco Discovery Box, along with a Cravings Value Menu.

In addition, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer duration than McDonald’s offer as part of its strategy, which also includes new items in the “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s is also participating in the promotional race with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
