McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, most locations across the United States have decided to continue the promotion, which initially began on June 25.

The meal bundle will remain available at about 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the duration of the offer may differ depending on the location. Some locations have chosen to keep the deal available until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, especially in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s bundle has proven beneficial for the company.

Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai observed that the introduction of the meal deal significantly increased customer visits to McDonald’s outlets, indicating its appeal among shoppers.

The success of McDonald’s promotion has prompted other fast casual dining chains to respond with their own offers. Arby’s, for instance, has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent value menu priced at $1.99. Taco Bell recently announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Around the same time, Burger King revealed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would have a longer run than the McDonald’s deal and announced the addition of new items to its “Fiery Menu.” Additionally, Wendy’s has entered the competition with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
