McDonald’s has decided to extend its $5 meal deal promotion for several more weeks at many of its U.S. locations. Originally launched on June 25, this popular deal will now be available at approximately 93% of the chain’s restaurants, although the specific duration of the offer may vary by location, with some extending it until August.
This decision comes as consumers face high food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector. The promotion has proven beneficial for McDonald’s, as recent analysis from foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai indicated a significant increase in customer visits following the launch of the meal bundle.
Other fast casual dining chains are reacting to this trend with their own promotional deals. Arby’s is offering a $9 bundle, while Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced plans for a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box, in addition to its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.
In late May, Burger King revealed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available longer than the McDonald’s offer and mentioned the introduction of new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also entered the promotional landscape with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
