McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for a few more weeks, according to reports. A memo from the fast food chain indicates that the majority of its U.S. locations have agreed to continue the promotion, which originally began on June 25.

The $5 bundle will remain available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, with specific durations varying by location. Some locations are expected to keep the deal running until August.

As consumers grapple with rising food prices, particularly within the fast casual dining sector, McDonald’s promotional deal has proven beneficial for the company.

Recent analysis by foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai revealed that after the introduction of the meal bundle, there was a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s outlets, indicating a strong appeal to consumers.

The success of this promotion has prompted other fast casual dining competitors to respond with their own deals. For instance, Arby’s has launched a $9 bundle, while Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Additionally, Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box, alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Furthermore, Burger King has declared that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would run longer than McDonald’s deal, while also introducing new menu items in its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has joined the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle as well as a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
