McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, according to a memo reported by Bloomberg. The promotion, which initially launched on June 25 and was set for four weeks, will continue to be available at approximately 93% of U.S. locations, although the exact duration may vary from one restaurant to another. Some outlets have chosen to keep the deal active until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, McDonald’s bundle promotion has proven beneficial for the brand. Foot traffic analytics company Placer.ai observed a significant increase in customer visits following the introduction of the deal, indicating that it has struck a chord with patrons.

This success has prompted other fast casual dining establishments to respond with their own promotions. For instance, Arby’s has launched a $9 bundle, while Sonic has instituted a permanent value menu priced at $1.99. Taco Bell has also joined the fray with a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box and a $5 Taco Discovery Box, along with its existing Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would extend beyond McDonald’s promotion, enhancing its offerings with new additions to its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has entered the competitive landscape as well, introducing a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
