McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for a few more weeks, according to reports. Most of the U.S.-based McDonald’s locations have agreed to continue the promotion, which originally started on June 25 for a four-week period.

The meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of restaurants across the country, although the duration of the promotion may differ by location, with some extending it through August.

The promotion comes at a time when many consumers are feeling financial pressure due to rising food prices. McDonald’s bundle appears to be attracting customers, reflecting positively for the company. A recent analysis by Placer.ai indicated that there was a significant increase in foot traffic to McDonald’s restaurants shortly after the launch of the deal.

Other fast casual dining chains are responding to McDonald’s success by introducing their own promotions. For instance, Arby’s has rolled out a $9 bundle, while Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. In June, Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box in addition to its $5 Taco Discovery Box and existing Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, Burger King has stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle will continue longer than McDonald’s offering, while they also plan to introduce new items within their “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also joined the competitive landscape with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
