McDonald’s has decided to extend its $5 meal deal for several more weeks, following positive reception from customers. According to a memo referenced by Bloomberg, most McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have agreed to continue the promotion, which originally began on June 25.

The meal deal will remain available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, although the duration of the offer may differ by location, with some franchises extending it through August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast-casual dining sector, this bundle has proven beneficial for McDonald’s. A foot traffic analysis conducted by Placer.ai indicated a significant increase in visitors to the restaurants shortly after launching the deal, highlighting its appeal to consumers.

The popularity of McDonald’s promotion has prompted other fast-casual chains to introduce their own deals in response. Arby’s has launched a $9 bundle, while Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell also announced a temporary $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its ongoing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King indicated its $5 “Your Way Meal” would remain available beyond McDonald’s promotional period, while revising its menu to include new items under the “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also entered the competition with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
