McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, following a successful launch on June 25. According to Bloomberg, most McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have agreed to continue the promotion, which will be available at approximately 93% of restaurants nationwide, though the duration of the offer may vary by location. Some franchises have even chosen to extend the deal until August.

As consumers face high food prices, especially in the fast casual dining sector, this meal deal has proven beneficial for McDonald’s. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a significant increase in visitors to McDonald’s following the introduction of this promotion, indicating strong consumer interest.

This initiative has prompted other fast casual dining establishments to respond with their own promotions. For instance, Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic now features a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell has launched a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside a $5 Taco Discovery Box and a Cravings Value Menu.

Moreover, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available longer than McDonald’s offer, and it has also introduced new items in its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has participated in the competitive pricing with a $3 breakfast bundle and a new $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
