McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks as the fast-food chain aims to attract cash-conscious consumers amid rising food prices. According to a memo referenced by Bloomberg, most McDonald’s locations across the United States have agreed to prolong the promotion, which initially launched on June 25.

This meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants, although the duration of the offer may vary by location, with some opting to keep it until August.

The timing of this promotion coincides with growing consumer demand for affordable dining options. Foot traffic analytics from Placer.ai indicated a notable increase in visits to McDonald’s restaurants shortly after the promotion began, demonstrating its popularity among customers.

The success of McDonald’s deal has prompted competitors to enhance their own offerings. Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has incorporated a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell has also jumped into the fray with its limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box, alongside a $5 Taco Discovery Box and an existing Cravings Value Menu.

Additional responses from rivals include Burger King’s commitment to extending its $5 “Your Way Meal” and introducing new items in its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has joined the competitive landscape with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
