McDonald’s is extending its $5 meal deal for several more weeks, as reported by Bloomberg, which referenced a memo from the fast-food chain. The promotion, initially launched on June 25, has been positively received, leading the majority of U.S.-based McDonald’s locations to continue offering the deal beyond the initial four-week timeframe.

Approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide will provide this bundle, although the exact duration of the promotion may vary by location, with some extending it until August.

With consumers facing increased food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s value deal has proven beneficial for the chain. Foot traffic analytics company Placer.ai highlighted a significant rise in customer visits following the launch of the $5 meal deal, indicating its success among consumers.

This competition in the fast casual market has prompted other chains to introduce their own promotional offers. Arby’s has launched a $9 bundle, while Sonic has implemented a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In response to McDonald’s deal, Burger King has committed to maintaining its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle for an extended period. Meanwhile, Wendy’s has introduced a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag,” joining the price-cutting trend in the industry.
