Fast food leader McDonald’s is extending its $5 meal deal for several additional weeks. According to a memo referenced by Bloomberg, most U.S.-based McDonald’s locations have agreed to continue the promotion, which initially began on June 25.

The meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of restaurants across the country, although the duration of the promotion may differ by location. Some establishments plan to offer the deal until August.

With consumers facing high food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s offer has proven beneficial for the company. A recent analysis by foot traffic firm Placer.ai showed that following the launch of the bundle, there was a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s locations, indicating the popularity of the deal.

This promotion has prompted other fast casual chains to respond competitively. For instance, Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell also announced it would provide a $7 Luxe Cravings Box temporarily, alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, Burger King has stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle will be available longer than McDonald’s offering, and it is expanding its menu with new items from its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also joined the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle and has launched a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
