McDonald’s has decided to extend its $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo, the majority of McDonald’s locations across the United States will continue the promotion, which initially began on June 25 and was set for four weeks.
The deal will be available at approximately 93% of restaurants nationwide, with the duration of the promotion varying by location. Some restaurants have chosen to extend the offer until August.
As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast-casual dining sector, McDonald’s promotion has proven to be beneficial for the company. A recent analysis by foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai showed a significant increase in visits to McDonald’s locations following the launch of the meal deal, indicating a positive response from customers.
Other fast-casual dining chains have noticed the impact of McDonald’s offer and have responded with their own promotions. Arby’s is now offering a $9 bundle, while Sonic has introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell has announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.
In addition, Burger King recently stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer period than McDonald’s deal, and they are adding new items to their “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also joined in on the promotions, featuring a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
