McDonald’s has announced that it will extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, most McDonald’s locations in the United States have opted to continue the promotion beyond its initial four-week period that started on June 25.
The meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of the restaurants across the country, although the specific duration of the offer may vary by location, with some extending it through August.
As many consumers face rising food prices and tighter budgets, the $5 bundle has proven beneficial for McDonald’s. Foot traffic analysis from Placer.ai indicated a noticeable increase in customers at McDonald’s locations shortly after the deal was introduced, demonstrating its appeal to diners.
This promotion has also led other fast-casual dining chains to respond with competitive offers. Arby’s launched a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box for a limited time, alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.
In addition, Burger King stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer duration than McDonald’s deal, and the chain is also adding new items to its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has joined the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 option called the “Biggie Bag.”
