McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to Bloomberg, a memo from the fast-food chain indicates that most U.S. locations have agreed to continue the promotion, which was initially launched on June 25 for a four-week timeframe.

The meal deal will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, although the duration of the promotion may differ by location, with some extending it into August. This extension comes as consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, making the McDonald’s offer increasingly attractive.

In the days following the introduction of the meal bundle, a significant increase in customer visits was recorded, according to analytics firm Placer.ai. This indicates the deal is effectively appealing to budget-conscious diners.

The successful bundle has prompted other fast casual dining chains to respond with their own promotions. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box and maintains its offer of a $5 Taco Discovery Box along with a Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King revealed that its own $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer period than McDonald’s offering. The company has also introduced new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Meanwhile, Wendy’s has joined the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle and has rolled out a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
