McDonald’s $5 Meal Deal Extension: What You Need to Know!

McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, according to a memo from the fast food giant. The promotion, which originally launched on June 25, has seen a positive response, with most U.S. locations participating, though the duration of the deal may vary by restaurant. Some locations will continue to offer it until August.

The extension comes at a time when many consumers are facing high food prices, especially in the fast casual dining sector, making the McDonald’s bundle an attractive option. A report from the foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai indicated that the introduction of the meal deal resulted in a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s restaurants.

This success has prompted other fast casual dining chains to respond with their own promotions. Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has rolled out a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box, in addition to its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King revealed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available longer than McDonald’s bundle, and it also announced new items for its “Fiery Menu.” Additionally, Wendy’s has joined the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
