McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo from the fast-food chain, most of its U.S. locations have agreed to continue the promotion beyond its initial four-week run that began on June 25.

The offer will remain available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the specific duration of the promotion may differ by location, with some restaurants extending it until August.

As consumers grapple with rising food costs, particularly in the fast casual dining segment, this value bundle is proving beneficial for McDonald’s. Foot traffic analytics company Placer.ai reported an increase in customer visits to McDonald’s locations shortly after the promotion started, indicating a positive consumer response.

In light of McDonald’s success with this deal, other fast casual dining chains are also stepping up their promotional efforts. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, and Sonic has added a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced plans for a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box, along with its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Burger King previously stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would run longer than McDonald’s offer. Meanwhile, Wendy’s has responded with a $3 breakfast bundle and a new $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
