McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, a significant number of McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have agreed to continue the promotion beyond the initial four-week period that began on June 25.

The meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the specific duration of the promotion may vary by location, with some continuing it until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in fast casual dining, McDonald’s affordable meal option is proving beneficial for the company.

Foot traffic analytics from Placer.ai indicated that following the introduction of the $5 bundle, McDonald’s experienced a notable increase in customer visits, highlighting the deal’s appeal to consumers.

The success of McDonald’s promotion has prompted other fast casual dining chains to respond with their own offers. For instance, Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has created a permanent $1.99 value menu. Additionally, Taco Bell recently launched a $7 Luxe Cravings Box for a limited time, alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King announced it would extend its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle beyond the duration of McDonald’s promotion and introduced new items on its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also joined the competition with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
