McDonald’s is set to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, following a positive response from consumers. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, many McDonald’s restaurants across the U.S. have agreed to keep the promotion alive beyond its initial four-week timeframe, which began on June 25.

The $5 bundle will continue to be available at approximately 93% of locations nationwide, though the duration of the promotion may differ by site, with some restaurants planning to offer it until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, particularly in the fast-casual dining sector, the McDonald’s deal has proven beneficial for the company. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a significant increase in visitors to McDonald’s restaurants shortly after the promotion launched, indicating that the offer resonated well with customers.

The success of this deal has prompted other fast casual dining chains to respond with their own promotions. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has rolled out a permanent $1.99 value menu. Additionally, Taco Bell announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Earlier in May, Burger King stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer period than McDonald’s offering, also revealing plans to introduce new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has joined the promotional frenzy with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
