McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for a few more weeks to benefit consumers facing rising food prices. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, most McDonald’s locations in the U.S. have agreed to continue this promotion, which initially launched on June 25 for four weeks.

The meal deal will be available at about 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, although the duration of the offer may vary by location, with some extending it through August.

As inflation continues to squeeze consumer budgets, McDonald’s has seen a significant increase in foot traffic since the introduction of the meal deal, indicating strong consumer interest.

Other fast casual dining chains have responded to the rising competition, launching their own promotional offers. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has created a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box, complementing its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, Burger King has declared that its $5 “Your Way Meal” will continue beyond the McDonald’s promotion period, while also introducing new items on its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has joined the fray with its $3 breakfast bundle and the $5 “Biggie Bag.”
