McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, according to a memo reported by Bloomberg. Initially launched on June 25, the promotion will now be available at approximately 93% of U.S. locations, although the exact duration may vary by restaurant, with some opting to continue the deal through August.

With many consumers facing high food prices, especially in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s bundle has proven beneficial for the company. Foot traffic analytics from Placer.ai revealed a significant increase in customers at McDonald’s following the introduction of the meal deal, indicating that it has resonated well with the public.

In response to McDonald’s promotion, other fast casual dining chains have begun to introduce their own value deals. Arby’s launched a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic created a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell also joined the fray by offering a $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and its Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, Burger King announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle would surpass the duration of McDonald’s promotion. The chain has also introduced new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has entered the deal competition as well, offering a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
