McDonald’s has announced an extension of its $5 meal deal for several more weeks, following the success of the promotion that began on June 25. According to a memo from the chain reported by Bloomberg, most U.S. McDonald’s locations will continue to offer the deal, with about 93% of restaurants participating. The duration of the promotion may differ by location, with some franchises planning to extend it until August.

This move comes as consumers face higher food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector. The $5 bundle has proven beneficial for McDonald’s, with analytics firm Placer.ai reporting a significant increase in foot traffic to the chain’s restaurants shortly after the promotion’s launch, indicating strong consumer interest.

The success of McDonald’s deal has prompted other fast casual dining chains to introduce their own competitive offers. For instance, Arby’s has rolled out a $9 bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell has presented a $7 Luxe Cravings Box and retained its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu. Additionally, Burger King has extended its $5 “Your Way Meal,” while Wendy’s is promoting a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
