McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo, most McDonald’s locations across the U.S. have agreed to prolong the promotion, which initially began on June 25.

The meal bundle will remain available in approximately 93% of the restaurants nationwide, although the duration of the promotion may vary by location, with some franchises extending it into August.

As consumers face high food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, the $5 deal has proven beneficial for the company. Recent analysis by foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai indicated a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s following the launch of the bundle, highlighting its appeal among diners.

The success of McDonald’s promotion has prompted rival fast casual dining chains to respond with their own deals. Arby’s introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Additionally, Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box to complement its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Burger King previously stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available longer than the McDonald’s deal, and it is also rolling out new items under its “Fiery Menu.” Meanwhile, Wendy’s has been active in the promotional landscape, offering a $3 breakfast bundle and introducing a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
