McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, following positive reception from consumers. According to a Bloomberg report based on a memo from the chain, most U.S. McDonald’s locations have agreed to continue the promotion, which originally launched on June 25 and was set to last for four weeks.

The deal will be available at approximately 93% of restaurants across the country, although the duration may vary by location, with some extending the offer through August.

As consumers face rising food prices, especially in the fast-casual dining sector, the McDonald’s bundle has proven beneficial for the company. Foot traffic analytics from Placer.ai indicated that the introduction of the meal deal led to a significant increase in visits to McDonald’s restaurants, demonstrating its appeal among customers.

The success of this promotion has raised concerns among competitors, prompting several fast-casual chains to introduce their own value deals. Arby’s has launched a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box for a limited time, along with its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King indicated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would run longer than McDonald’s offer, and they also plan to add new items to their “Fiery Menu.” Meanwhile, Wendy’s has introduced a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
