McDonald’s is extending its $5 meal deal for several more weeks, responding to consumer demand and heightened food prices. According to a memo received by Bloomberg, the majority of U.S. McDonald’s locations will continue offering the promotion, which initially launched on June 25 for a four-week period. The deal will be available at approximately 93% of restaurants nationwide, with some locations choosing to provide the offer until August.

This promotion comes at a time when many consumers are feeling the pinch of rising food costs, particularly in the fast casual dining sector. The $5 bundle has proven beneficial for McDonald’s, as foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a significant increase in visits to its restaurants shortly after the promotion began, highlighting its appeal to customers.

The success of McDonald’s meal deal has prompted other fast casual chains to enhance their own offerings. Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, and Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box, alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu. Meanwhile, Burger King extended its $5 “Your Way Meal” beyond McDonald’s original timeframe and introduced new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s joined the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle and has since launched a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
