Fast food giant McDonald’s will continue its $5 meal deal for several more weeks following positive consumer response. According to a memo cited by Bloomberg, most U.S.-based McDonald’s locations have opted to extend the promotion beyond its original four-week period, which began on June 25.

The meal bundle will be available at approximately 93% of restaurants across the nation, although the duration of the promotion may differ by location. Some franchises have chosen to keep the deal running until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, especially within the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s bundle is proving beneficial for the company. Foot traffic analytics from Placer.ai revealed a significant increase in customer visits shortly after the promotion was launched, indicating strong consumer interest.

The success of McDonald’s deal has prompted other fast casual chains to introduce their own promotions. For example, Arby’s has rolled out a $9 bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced its $7 Luxe Cravings Box and a $5 Taco Discovery Box alongside its Cravings Value Menu.

Additionally, Burger King announced its $5 “Your Way Meal” would remain available longer than McDonald’s option and included plans for new menu items in its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also entered the fray with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
