McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo highlighted by Bloomberg, most U.S. McDonald’s locations have agreed to continue the promotion, which initially started on June 25.

The meal bundle will remain available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, although the promotion’s duration may differ by location, with some stores choosing to extend the offer into August.

With rising food prices straining consumers, particularly in the fast-casual dining sector, this deal has proven beneficial for McDonald’s. A recent analysis by foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported a significant increase in customer visits following the launch of the promotion, indicating strong consumer interest.

The success of McDonald’s deal has prompted other fast-casual chains to respond with their own promotions. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has launched a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced its $7 Luxe Cravings Box for a limited time, alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In May, Burger King stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle would be available for a longer period than McDonald’s. The fast-food chain also mentioned new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Meanwhile, Wendy’s has introduced a $3 breakfast bundle and recently launched a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag” in response to the competitive pricing in the industry.
