McDonald’s is extending its $5 meal deal for additional weeks, following the positive response from consumers. According to a memo referenced by Bloomberg, most McDonald’s restaurants across the U.S. have chosen to keep the promotion alive beyond its initial four-week launch that started on June 25.

This meal bundle will remain available at approximately 93% of locations nationwide, with some franchises deciding to extend the offer until August. Amid rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining sector, this promotion has proven popular with budget-conscious consumers.

Foot traffic analytics company Placer.ai has reported a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s after the introduction of the bundle, indicating its success in attracting patrons.

The successful deal has prompted competitors in the fast casual dining space to respond with their own offers. Arby’s has introduced a $9 bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Additionally, Taco Bell recently announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box, alongside its $5 Taco Discovery Box and a Cravings Value Menu.

Burger King also announced that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available for a longer period than McDonald’s deal. In that same timeframe, it introduced new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Meanwhile, Wendy’s has launched a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
