McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo cited by Bloomberg, most McDonald’s locations in the United States have agreed to continue the promotion, which originally started on June 25 and was set for four weeks.
The offer will be available in approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the duration of the promotion may differ by location. Some franchises have chosen to keep the deal running into August.
As consumers face rising food prices and seek budget-friendly dining options, the meal bundle has proven beneficial for McDonald’s. Recent data from foot traffic analysis firm Placer.ai revealed a significant increase in customer visits shortly after the launch of the deal, indicating it has resonated well with patrons.
The success of this promotion has prompted other fast-casual dining chains to respond with their own deals. Arby’s recently introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box in addition to its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.
Meanwhile, Burger King has extended its own $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle to outlast McDonald’s offering, following announcements of new menu items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has joined the competition with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
