McDonald’s is extending its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks, following positive response from customers. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, most of the U.S.-based McDonald’s locations have agreed to prolong the promotion, which originally started on June 25.
The offer will remain available at approximately 93% of restaurants across the country, although the duration may differ by location, with some outlets planning to continue the deal into August.
As consumers face rising food prices, particularly at fast casual dining establishments, the McDonald’s bundle has proven beneficial for the company. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai noted a significant uptick in customer visits shortly after the launch of the deal, indicating strong consumer interest.
This promotion has prompted other fast casual dining chains to respond with their own offers. Arby’s has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has rolled out a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box for a limited time alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box.
Moreover, Burger King recently stated that its $5 “Your Way Meal” will be available for a longer period than McDonald’s promotion, while also adding new items to its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s is participating as well, offering a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
