McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for a few more weeks. The fast-food chain, according to a memo, announced that many of its U.S. locations agreed to continue the promotion, which initially started on June 25.

The $5 bundle will still be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants across the country, but the duration of the offer may differ depending on the specific location, with some extending the promotion through August.

With many consumers facing rising food prices, especially in the fast-casual dining sector, the McDonald’s deal has been successful in attracting customers. A recent analysis from foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai indicated a significant increase in visitors to McDonald’s outlets following the launch of the $5 meal deal, suggesting that the promotion has resonated with consumers.

The extension of McDonald’s offer has prompted competitors in the fast-casual dining space to introduce their own promotions. Arby’s is now offering a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has established a permanent value menu at $1.99. Additionally, Taco Bell has announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box for a limited time, on top of its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

Furthermore, Burger King revealed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” bundle would be available for a longer period than McDonald’s deal, along with new additions in its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s has also joined the promotions with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
