McDonald’s has decided to extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo reported by Bloomberg, most of the U.S.-based McDonald’s locations have agreed to keep the promotion going beyond the initial four-week period that started on June 25.

The meal deal will be available at approximately 93% of McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, although the promotion’s duration may vary by location, with some restaurants choosing to continue the offer until August.

As consumers face rising food prices, especially in the fast casual dining sector, the McDonald’s bundle has proven to be advantageous for the company. Foot traffic analytics firm Placer.ai reported that the launch of the deal significantly increased visits to McDonald’s, indicating it resonates well with consumers.

Other fast casual chains have taken notice of McDonald’s success and are introducing their own competitive offers. Arby’s has rolled out a $9 bundle, while Sonic has implemented a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell has announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box and maintains its $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King revealed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be extended beyond the McDonald’s promotion, and this month, it announced the addition of new items to its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s is also participating in the discount trend with a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
