McDonald’s is extending its $5 meal deal for several more weeks, as reported in a recent memo from the fast food chain. The initial promotion, which kicked off on June 25, is set to continue at approximately 93% of McDonald’s locations across the United States, although the duration of the offer may differ by restaurant, with some extending it until August.
In light of rising food prices and the financial struggles of many consumers, this meal deal has proven beneficial for the company. Foot traffic analytics from Placer.ai indicated that after the bundle’s introduction, McDonald’s experienced a significant increase in customer visits, reflecting the popularity of the offer among consumers.
The success of McDonald’s deal has prompted other fast casual dining chains to respond with their own promotions. For instance, Arby’s launched a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic introduced a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell announced a limited-time $7 Luxe Cravings Box to complement its $5 Taco Discovery Box and existing Cravings Value Menu.
In late May, Burger King revealed that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would be available longer than the McDonald’s promotion, alongside new items in its “Fiery Menu.” Similarly, Wendy’s has entered the competition with a $3 breakfast bundle and introduced a $5 combo known as the “Biggie Bag.”
