Fast food leader McDonald’s will extend its popular $5 meal deal for several more weeks. According to a memo referenced by Bloomberg, the majority of U.S. McDonald’s locations have agreed to continue the promotion, which originally started on June 25 and was set for four weeks.

This deal will remain available at approximately 93% of restaurants across the country, with some locations choosing to keep the offer until August. As consumers grapple with rising food prices, particularly in the fast casual dining segment, the McDonald’s bundle is proving advantageous for the company.

Analysis from foot traffic firm Placer.ai revealed a significant increase in customer visits to McDonald’s outlets shortly after introducing the meal deal, indicating strong consumer interest.

The success of McDonald’s promotion has prompted other fast casual chains to respond with their own offers. Arby’s, for instance, has introduced a $9 meal bundle, while Sonic has rolled out a permanent $1.99 value menu. Taco Bell recently announced a $7 Luxe Cravings Box alongside its existing $5 Taco Discovery Box and Cravings Value Menu.

In late May, Burger King mentioned that its $5 “Your Way Meal” would surpass the duration of McDonald’s deal, and it also plans to introduce new items as part of its “Fiery Menu.” Wendy’s is also participating, offering a $3 breakfast bundle and a $5 combo called the “Biggie Bag.”
